The Departed on Fire...Released on DVD

The buzz on The Departed continues to fuel the interest in Boston. Besides the numerous Golden Globes awards nominations, The Departed was nominated for five Academy Awards.

With the interest peaking, there is already talk of a sequel by Oscar nominee William Monahan. He's a Southie local that loves the area so we are rooting for him big time.

The Departed Out on DVD

And if you haven't seen the mob classic yet, it comes out on DVD TODAY.

New Mass Film Office Arrives

PICS FROM MASS FILM OFFICE LAUNCH BREAKFEST
Jen from Dream Alley and Lisa from the Plymouth Film Festival

The story of the Massachusetts Film Office/Bureau has had more twists than a David Mamet suspense and more drama than Days of our Lives. This past January, Massachusets began a new exciting chapter to bring our film industry to the next level.

Thanks partly to the approximate $1.2 million budget granted to the Massachusetts Sports and Entertainment Commission (MSEC), the NEW Massachusetts Film Office was announced January 22. The new office will serve as a single entity for Hollywood producers to rely on for everything from permitting to location assistance.

MSEC Managing Director Richard Krezwick held a breakfast for industry folks at the Hotel Intercontinental to officially announce the new office. Several days later, Nicholas Paleologos was named as the new Executive Director. Paleologos is a prominent producer of several major studio feature films, numerous independent movies and theatrical shows.

Coupled with the film tax incentive, Massachusetts is well positioned to attract even more film in 2007 and beyond.

Be Our Friend on myspace

Dane Cook - One of our First myspace Friends

I have never quite understood the fascination with myspace. We have a full fledged website so why do we need a myspace page? But who am I to question it (150 million members and going strong). Heck, Boston local and comedian Dane Cook became a national sensation through his myspace network. Oh yeah, he's pretty funny too.

So we just created our 1998-looking myspace page and we are off and running signing up friends. Of course, if you don't have a myspace account, you probably think I am talking gibberish.

In any case, if you want to sign up, here is our myspace page...

P.S. Speaking of Dane Cook, he answered our request in under a day. Thanks Dane.
