Filmed in Jan/Feb 2006, filming locations in Boston and surrounding areas included the North End, Allston, Randolph, Everett, Watertown, Revere, Newton, and Chelsea.
Specific locations in Boston include Joe Tecce’s Italian restaurant in the North End and Pancifico Cafe on Charles Street (1/30/06) along the Boston Movie Mile. The filmmakers spent over a week filming at the Carr Funeral home in Everett which is owned by the Rocco family. As part of the deal, co-owner Richard Rocco even received a small part in the movie. Liberty Bell Roast Beef in South Boston also made the filming list.
Other Boston Connections: The movie is also being made by Boston locals Frank and Joe Ciota and produced/funded by EMC founder Roger Marino (the "M" in EMC).
Stiffs is also the 1st movie to take advantage of the new Massachusetts tax credit for filmmakers. It was originally scheduled to shoot in the fall of 2005 but the filming was postponed until Jan 1, 2006 in order to reap the tax credit benefits.
