The Bull & Finch Pub became Boston’s top destination when the Emmy Award-winning TV series Cheers used the Boston bar as the inspiration for the setting of the beloved TV sitcom. From blockbusters such as Mystic River and Good Will Hunting to classics such as The Verdict, and TheThomas Crown Affair, Boston has long been a favorite of Hollywood producers.
“The Boston Movie Mile tour is a unique walking tour that showcases Boston as one of Hollywood's preferred locations and will help us promote Boston as a top visitor destination,” commented Patrick Moscaritolo, President & CEO of the Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau.
“As the ‘Cradle of liberty’ and home to some of the greatest universities, hospitals, museums and rock bands in the world, Boston will now be able to showcase the over 400 movies and TV shows that were filmed here,” said Boston City Council President Michael F. Flaherty. “I look forward to walking the Boston Movie Mile tour with my family and invite all Bostonians to do the same.”

Boston Movie Tours is family run by Boston locals, Jeff and Rachel Coveney. The idea started back in 2002 when the Coveneys visited Hawaii on their honeymoon and took the Hawaii Movie Tour. “Seeing where Jurassic Park was filmed and swinging on the same rope as Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark really brought the movies to life.” says Rachel Coveney. “We wanted to bring that same experience to Boston.”
